It supersedes the printed material you received with your software. This software is intended to be used with ChemStation A.09.03 or greater. -------------------------------------------------------- Running G1979A Multi-Signal Output Accessory -------------------------------------------- - The cycle time for collecting MS signals must be limited to less than 2.5 seconds for methods used with the G1979A accessory. Keeping the peak width setting to less than 0.2 minutes will accomplish this under most conditions. For peaks that are wider this will result in oversampling the peak, which will not reduce the quality of the data. - A Bootp server must be configured and running before starting the G1979A. If a Bootp server is not available the G1979A may get an invalid IP address from a DHCP server. The G1979A will then have to be restarted after the Bootp server is running. - When the SIM ions are changed in the Set Up MSD Signals the G1979A settings are not automatically updated. You should always check the G1979A settings after changing the MSD Signal settings. Mass Based Fraction Collection and Signal Details should also be checked any time the SIM ions are changed. - While a G1979A diagnostic test is running you should not edit a method or start running a method. Let the diagnostic test finish or use the stop button in the progress display to stop the test run first. Failing to do this will lead to communication problems with the G1979A. - Errors in communication with G1979A require restarting ChemStation to recover, or you can issue the following two commands on the command line and then reload the method. SIDEBox_Close SIDEBox_Init Installing G1979A Multi-Signal Output Accessory -------------------------------------------- - For full installation instructions see the 'Agilent G1979A Multi-Signal Output Accessory User's Guide'. - Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater is required. - If you are using ChemStation A.09.03 you will have to update the firmware for the mass spectrometer. You will be prompted to do this at the end of the installation. These will show up as changed file if the Installation Verification tool is run. --------------------------------------------------------
